YMCA Sports Programs
A mainstay of YMCA offerings for young people, Y youth sports programs fill kids' discretionary hours with positive activities and caring adult attention. Coaches -- often volunteers, including many parents -- emphasize teamwork and cooperation over winning at any cost, developing good values as opposed to developing the next superstar.
At the Hopkinsville/Christian County Family YMCA we offer both youth sports and adult sports. Youth sports include spring/fall soccer, t-ball, baseball, softball, flag football, cheerleading, and archery. Adult sports include basketball and volleyball. Through these programs, we strive to develop relationships that help build strong kids, strong families, and strong communites.

We play sports to have fun!
YMCA NATIONAL SPECTATOR CODE
-
Remember that children play organized sports for their own fun. They are not there to entertain you and they are not miniature pro athletes.

Be on your best behavior. Don't use profane language or harass players, coaches or officials.
-
Applaud good plays by your own team and the opposing team.
-
Show respect for your team's opponents. Without them there would be no games.
-
Never ridicule a child for making a mistake during a game.
-
Condemn the use of any violence.
-
Respect the official's decisions.
-
Encourage players to always play according to the rules.
